Luxury Vandalism. Death NYC: The Art Remix Lab🇷🇺 RU

A&A Interior gallery invites you to the opening of "Luxury Vandalism. Death NYC: the art remix lab" — a monographic collection of works by the anonymous New York street artist known as Death NYC, introducing the viewer to neo-pop art as a movement in contemporary art.

Death NYC became famous for a bold approach: mixed techniques and silkscreen printing on unconventional materials, including one-dollar bills. Active participation in prestigious auctions has strengthened her position on the global art scene, and her works are valued by collectors and critics as original cultural artefacts that break familiar norms.

"In her work Death NYC challenges mainstream culture; her pieces are provocative and make you think," says Anastasia Degtyareva, curator of the exhibition.

The artist's main device is irony as a tool for freeing the mind from the dictates of mass media. The slogan "DEATH IS FREE" and the acronym "Don't Easily Abandon The Hope", which became the artist's name (D.E.A.T.H.), play on an existential contradiction: in a world where everything must be paid for, death is free. Yet inside this dark street slogan lies an encrypted manifesto of hope and absolute freedom.
